Gabe Grimm, and myself (Caleb Renner) met at a church group in the summer of 2021. We instantly grew to become close friends due to similar personality traits and sharing aspirations of becoming entrepreneurs. As our friendship grew we both shot around ideas of how to start a business. Each idea was met with a roadblock or just simply fizzled out. Nevertheless, both of us were determined to be the curators of something… anything. Some of our ideas included breweries, storage facilities, and even wedding venues. Despite our best efforts, we never got any further than a few drinks and jotting down a couple ideas.
Fast forward to January 12th, 2023, and I am writing this article to you, in hopes that this day marks the beginning of a successful news outfit.
Both Gabe and I have a fascination with writing and editing articles. Gabe’s interests lie in sports and mine lies in politics and agriculture. With our combined talents, we hope to deliver compelling journalism and interesting outlooks on today's latest stories. But what makes us different from ESPN or CNN? What makes the Iowan Perspective different from any other news publisher. That’s a great question, and I spent a lot of time thinking about it.
Throughout all of human history, there has always been something to sell. Food was a hot commodity in medieval times and rather hard to come by. Moving into the industrial revolution it was steam engines and railroad tracks that companies lived and died by. Moving into the 20th century you could make a pretty penny off of whiskey and guns. Today? That’s an interesting prospect. What do people most crave in this age of comfort and technology? Well, in my humble opinion, what people most crave today is information. But not just information from some legacy media group, real information from real people. Your average Iowan citizen wants a first hand perspective. That is the purpose of the Iowan Perspective. All of the news you will intake on this outlet will be based on the perspective of real Iowans in the real world, not journalists with agendas.
Do you thirst to have your perspective heard and understood on a large scale? Are you sick of getting lost in Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram comment sections and would rather have your ideas shared on a professional and erudite news outlet? Well, welcome. And buckle in because maybe your perspective changes the world.

Great idea! Wishing you well!
